Katie Roberti, Director of Communications
Katie was raised on her family’s hay and cattle ranch in the Sierra Valley, 35 miles northwest of Reno, Nevada. Growing up involved with CCA and attending events like annual convention at a young age, Katie gained an appreciation for the work the association does to keep cattle ranchers, such as her own family, ranching in California.
She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communication at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2016. After finishing her Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno in December 2017, she joined the CCA staff in January 2018. Katie has previously interned for the National Western Stock Show, the American Hereford Association, the American Maine-Anjou Association and West Coast Advisors. She is passionate about California agriculture and loves working with ranching families and producers from up and down the state.
Katie manages CCA’s communications including the website, social media and other multimedia projects, as well as leads the design of all CCA outreach and event materials. She is also responsible for overseeing CCA’s weekly Legislative Bulletin and the Association’s monthly newsletter, Hot Irons. Additionally, Katie writes and designs content for CCA’s magazine, California Cattleman. Launched in the summer of 2021, Katie is also is the producer and host of Sorting Pen: The California Cattleman Podcast.
