Online registration is now closed. Visit the registration booth onsite to register.

Full registrations include access to meetings, the tradeshow, the Wine and Cheese Reception, entertainment and food at the Welcome Party, breakfast in the tradeshow on Thursday and lunch in the tradeshow on Thursday. Full registrations do not include tickets to the Cowbelle of the Year Lunch, the CCW Awards Breakfast and CCA/CCW Awards Banquet.

The California Cattlemen’s Association invites you to exhibit at the 2024 California Cattle Industry Tradeshow held in conjunction with the Convention.

Booth spaces are 10’x10’ and include: backdrape, side rail, ID sign, one six foot skirted table, two side chairs and one wastebasket.

Booth assignments are made based on membership status and participation in Association events throughout the year including event sponsorship, attendance at Allied Industry meetings, participating in scholarship interviews, assisting with fundraisers for scholarships or serving in a leadership role. While we value all industry partners, organizations that participate more in the CCA are given priority in terms of booth placement. Initial booth space reservations will be taken through Friday, October 11. Booths reserved after this date can not be guaranteed.

Patrick Linnell

Patrick Linnell, CattleFax

CCA looks forward to hearing from Patrick as a General Session speaker.

Born and raised in eastern Oregon, Patrick Linnell grew up with a commercial and registered Red Angus background. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and agricultural business from Colorado State University, where he was a member of both the meats and livestock judging teams and was involved in other clubs and activities. In fall 2017, Patrick earned a master’s degree in agricultural economics from CSU. His research focused on price forecasting and fed cattle markets.

Patrick joined CattleFax as an analyst in January 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Cattle Market Research and Analysis. His primary responsibilities include fundamental research and analysis within the cattle markets, as well as helping producers navigate markets and manage risk within their operations. Patrick is responsible for serving CattleFax members in the western region and writes frequently for CattleFax publications.

Patrick and his wife, Jordy, live in Castle Rock, Colorado with their two Corgis. They frequent the ski slopes in the winter and enjoy helping with the family operation in Oregon whenever possible. Patrick also helps coach the local 4-H livestock judging team.

Jess Pryles, Hardcore Carnivore

CCA looks forward to hearing from Jess as a General Session speaker.

Jess Pryles is a live fire cook, author, meat expert and a professional Hardcore Carnivore.

She has a particular passion for beef and meat science and is a respected authority on Texas style barbecue. Born in Australia, she now resides in Austin, Texas.

In addition to being a maven of all things meaty, Jess is a co-founder of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance and the creator of the internationally-acclaimed line of meat seasonings, Hardcore Carnivore®. She has also authored a cookbook of the same name.

Pryles’ website is one of the highest ranking resources for meat cookery and information on the internet. Her recipes, videos and classes reach millions of meat-fans around the globe each year.

Jess’ expertise in the meat world grew from humble beginnings – a regular consumer who enjoyed the occasional steak at home, but frustrated by her own lack of knowledge on the different cuts available, and more importantly, how to cook them.

As she herself puts it: ‘I used to be one of those people who stood in the meat department at the grocery store overwhelmed by the selection. So I decided to change all that”.

She’s spent years educating herself on all things related to meat. Basic butchery, varied cooking techniques, the affect of aging meat…she’s investigating these and a myriad of other carnivorous subjects.

She’s visited ranches, slaughterhouses, butcher shops, gone through the experience of hunting as part of the rite of a responsible meat eater (and now loves processing her own venison) and has completed short courses at Texas A&M University’s Meat Science department, as well as teaching her own classes in the US, Australia, Mexico, Sweden & Brazil.

Jess was honored to create and execute the menu for the G’day USA Australia Day event at the Texas Governors Mansion, has appeared as a celebrity judge on Channel 7’s Aussie Barbecue Heroes and is a regular on Food Network. She’s grilled live on the Today show and judged prestigious BBQ competitions worldwide. Her expertise has been sought for guest speaking engagements at SXSW, Camp Brisket, National Barbecue & Grilling Association, Ducks Unlimited and American Meat Science Association conferences. Annually, she hosts a Beef Masterclass in conjunction with the Texas Beef Council.

In 2017, the JP signature edition Pitts & Spitts smoker was released. Designed by Jess, each pit is custom made in Texas, individually numbered and bears her signature.

Pryles is a spokesperson for Kingsford Charcoal and Lone Star Beer and a proud ambassador for Gerber Legendary Gear and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.

Touted as “the female Ron Swanson” by loyal followers, Pryles has pioneered a unique brand encompassing cookery, ‘meatducation’ and the Texan way of life, all while encouraging and educating folks to cook meat like they mean it.

Colin Woodall, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association

CCA looks forward to hearing from Colin as a General Session speaker.

Colin Woodall is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and leads the country’s oldest and largest national trade association for cattle producers in being the trusted voice and definitive leader of the beef industry.

Originally from Big Spring, Texas, Colin graduated from Texas A&M and then worked as a grain elevator manager and merchandiser for Cargill at several locations in western Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle.  After venturing to Washington, Colin took a job with U.S. Senator John Cornyn from Texas.  He has been with NCBA since 2004 and served as the association’s Chief Lobbyist in Washington, D.C., for a decade.  He is a founding member of the Government Relations Leadership Forum, a life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association, the Agribusiness Club of Washington, D.C., the Washington Agricultural Roundtable, and is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Agriculture Council of America.  He also volunteers as a junior commercial steer show judge at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition.

Participate in the 2024 Cattlemen’s Poster Session happening at Convention! The goal of the session is to inform attendees about the ongoing beef cattle research and education efforts being conducted in California. Posters can be something that was presented at previous meetings and there is no limit to the number of posters brought from each lab/program.

Posters can be put up as early as Thursday, Dec. 5 at 8am. The formal poster session will be held from 2-4 pm.

The deadline to submit posters was Friday, Nov. 8.

APPLY TO BE A CONVENTION INTERN

The application period for interns is closed! 

Each year YCC members have the opportunity to apply and serve as a CCA Convention Intern. The weeklong internship provides students with a hands-on and behind-the-scenes view of all the working parts of putting on a convention. Interns assist with registration, directing attendees, running the CCA merchandise table and much more. Additionally, interns have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, and attend select meetings, general sessions, and the tradeshow with a complimentary registration.
